Yoga and Yoga-inspired Programs
VENT Fitness is excited to offer a variety of single- and multi-session yoga-inspired programs developed for multiple levels of experience and objectives.
90-minute Beginner Yoga – VENT Fitness Guilderland
January 14, 2017 • 12:30 – 2 p.m. | $15
Yoga is an individual journey for everyone. This 90-minute class is designed for anyone who has ever had an interest in stepping onto the mat for the first time and starting a personal Yoga journey. Yoga is for everybody! The first part of the class will be a discussion of common yoga beginner fears with offerings to grow in your personal practice. It will then proceed into a gentle beginners Hot Warrior inspired Yoga flow. Finally at the end of class there will be time for a small discussion about your first beginner’s Yoga class.
Iyengar Yoga – VENT Fitness Guilderland
January 19 – February 23, 2017 • Thursdays, 7 p.m. | $60 for members | $75 for non-members | $15 drop-in
Come learn Iyengar-Inspired Yoga from Noreen Santa Maria. Discover how Iyengar Yoga differs from most Yoga classes. Topics include: anatomy, asana alignment, breathing, meditation, home practice, as well as Yoga philosophy. This mat Yoga program will utilize props such as blocks, belts, blankets, and chairs. All body types and ages are invited as Noreen can modify or progress any posture. Participants will need to bring their own mats, blocks, straps, blanket, and paper and pen if you wish to take notes! Each class is 75 minutes.
Beginner Yoga Six-Week Program – VENT Fitness Niskayuna
January 23 – February 27, 2017 • Mondays, 6:45 p.m. | $60 for members | $15 drop-in
This six-week beginners program will encourage proper posture alignment, muscle strengthening, increased flexibility, improved balance, guided meditation, and the exploration of pranayama (breathing techniques). No experience is necessary. Members should bring a mat, and blocks are very helpful!
Advanced Yoga Six-Week Program – VENT Fitness Niskayuna
January 29 – March 5, 2017 • Sundays, 4 p.m. | $60 for members | $15 drop-in
This six-week advanced program will focus on muscle strengthening, proper posture alignment, inversions (handstands and forearm stands, arm balancing, meditation, more advanced pranayama (breathing techniques). Participants should bring a mat. At least six months of prior regular yoga practice is required.
